I’m a language coach from Bogotá, Colombia.
I grew up speaking Spanish and English at home. I have a degree in International Relations and Music from the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, U.S.A, and I’m currently a candidate for a Masters degree in Technology and Educational Innovation from the IMF Business School and the Universidad Camilo Jose Cela in Madrid, Spain.
On my third year of school I had the chance to study for a semester in Paris, where I took political science and history courses at the university of Tolbiac Sorbonne, and there’s where I added French to my language bag.
For the past 20 years I have been working as a language coach. In 2008 I founded BSR Idiomas, a boutique language company that caters mostly to the corporate market in Colombia. Our clients include banks, pharmaceutical, and gas and oil companies among others. We currently hire more than 20 teachers who share their knowledge of English, Spanish, Portuguese and French to our students.
I find the teaching and learning of languages one of the most rewarding experiences in life. Currently, I’m studying Italian, Polish and Portuguese. I believe that learning a language is a process where anything goes. Hence, I have tried most methods available in the market, and constantly read almost every blog about language learning and teaching in order to incorporate new ideas and approaches to my classes.
I’ve written a couple of books: “10 successful Colombian executives working abroad‘, a business English book, was published in 2014 by the Editorial CESA; and the best-selling “Cómo aprender un idioma en el siglo XXI,” available on Amazon.com
I want to share my love of languages and help other language learners across the globe.
Welcome to my blog.
